In 2015 PT.Nusa Indah Kalimantan Plantations has initiated small scale implementation of BMPs (Best Management Practices). BMPs is defined as agronomic methods and techniques found to be the most cost effective and practical means to reduce the gap between actual and maximum economic yield and minimize the impact of the production system on the environment by using external inputs and production resources efficiently. Why implementing BMPs?

• Determine potential yield for all sites.
• Goal of management is to minimize the gap between achievable and actual yield.
• BMP is a step-wise process to close up yield gaps. Small scale pilot phase and scale up once evidence of gap available.
• Maximum economic yield is the key to profitability and business sustainability.
